As a part of McDonald’s 40 years in the role as the Mission or Foundations Partner to Ronald McDonald House Charities (RMHC), McDonald’s will kick-off the 12th annual “Give a Hand” fundraiser .   The Give A Hand fundraiser will be in participating restaurants from May 1 – 10, 2014.  As in past years, customers can show their support for the Charity by purchasing a paper hand in varying denominations of $1, $3, or $5.  All fundraiser proceeds will benefit RMHC and support children and families in need in local communities across the United States.

Community donations add up.  To show the generosity of McDonald’s customers, last year more than $5 million was raised for RMHC through the “Give a Hand” fundraiser at participating McDonald’s restaurants in the U.S.  This donation long with other RMHC receives allows the Charity to serve seven million children and families every year around the world.

Many ways to give.  With the continued support from McDonald’s customers, we can continue to raise funds for RMHC through the national “Give a Hand” fundraiser, the ongoing donations from Happy Meal or Mighty Kids Meal sales, in-restaurants RMHC Donation Boxes, and various local initiatives.

A Legacy of Giving Back.  The McDonald’s and RMHC relationship began in 1974 when the first Ronald McDonald House opened in Philadelphia.  Through its continues support for RMHC over the past 40 years, providing invaluable support and fueling the Charity’s incredible growth, McDonald’s has dedicated itself to the happiness and well-being of children.

  • Ronald McDonald Family Room offers place for families to rest and regroup right at the hospital, just steps away from their sick child.  There are 200 Ronald McDonald Family Rooms in 23 countries.
